Maybelline babylips

A few days ago I picked up one of these.  I've seen lots of people talking about them on twitter, and have seen them in lots of American YouTube videos, so I couldn't resist to pick one up and see what all the fuss is about.

Maybelline Babylips in Mint Fresh £2.99

They're also available in Peach Kiss, Cherry Me, Hydrate, Pink Punch & Intense Care

I really like the packaging, they all look so cute and fun - they really remind me of the old Louis Vuitton designs!

I picked this one for two reasons, firstly I know mint can work as a bit of a lip plumper, so that's why I thought I'd try Mint Fresh, also because I don't like to wear colour on my lips, it's very rare I wear a lipstick!  Plus it's always good to have some minty freshness :)

I really like this, it's earned it's place in my bag as a go to lip balm, the taste, scent and feel is great, there's nothing about it I don't like.  Even the price is decent.  Yeah you could pick up cheaper ones, but they wouldn't be as a cute :)

Have you tried any of these yet?

Home decor inspiration #1

One of my passions in life is home decor.  My home is far from how I'd like it, so I spend copious hours browsing Pinterest in the hopes of finding that perfect piece of inspiration to spur me on to create the perfect home.  So today, I've put together some of my favourite Pinterest inspiration images, I hope you like them :)

I love how stunning this is for a downstairs toilet - I don't have one in my house, but if I did, this is exactly how I'd like it to be designed, simple and elegant without being overly feminine.

This is an amazing solution for desks in a small space.  I can just imagine sitting there with my laptop blogging away and writing these Pinterest posts :)

Incredibly simple and would look so beautiful in the garden, just some old jars, pebbles at the bottom (or you could put some dried beans in there like cannellini beans) and a small pillar candle, then hang it up with some rough string, perfect.

How pretty is this table and chevron carpet!?  By the looks of Pinterest, chevron print is really in right now, whether that's on a painting, or a rug.  I'm a complete sucker for teal too.

This looks like such a warm and inviting lounge area, so cozy.  You can just imagine spending warm evenings here on a cold winters night with a glass of red wine and a book or film.  Such beauty.

This actually reminds me of my aunt's old house.  I love the miss-mash of photo's and frames going up the stairs, it makes it look so homely.  I'm a big fan of wall lamps too, I really could get away with this on my stairs, it's just a big blank wall waiting for a collection of photo's :)

You can follow my home decor Pinterest board here if you'd like to re-pin these from source :)

Five favs - August

Hello and welcome to my very first blog post, how exciting!  I've been thinking about creating a blog for a long time and finally decided to take the plunge.  I'm completely open to feedback so please let me know if I'm doing anything wrong or if there are ways I can improve :)  Anyway, on with the five favs!

1. Bourjois healthy mix serum in 51, 2. M&S Limited lip balm in mango, 3. Rimmel Scandal eyes cream eye shadow in Rich Russet, 4. Dainty Doll blusher in 002, 5. MUA Undressed palette.

These five products have spent significant time on my face recently.  The foundation is so lovely, it smells nice, lasts well and you don't need a lot of it to get good coverage.  The lip balm both smells and tastes lovely, and I think it was only £4.  The Rimmel Scandal eyes cream eye shadow is amazing, perfect under the MUA Undressed palette, which is such a bargain at £4, yeah it's not quite as good as the Urban Decay naked palette, but it's just a fraction of the price.  The Scandal Eyes cream shadow dries really quickly too and blends really well.

If I could only use 5 products for the rest of the month, these would be what I'd pick, although, I really would miss having mascara and eyeliner too!  Maybe next month I should do a Seven Favs?

Thanks for reading <3
